Celebrate and Worship Through Music
At Custer Road UMC, music is a powerful way we connect with God and one another. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or simply have a heart to learn, there’s a place for you here. Come be part of a joyful, worshipful community that lifts every voice in praise!
Vocal Music
Gospel Gang is our fun and faith-filled music program for kids ages 4 (by Sept. 1) through 5th grade. Kids grow in confidence as worship leaders while learning to sing, move, and praise God together.
Choirs meet Sundays during the school year from 5–6pm and are grouped by age:
Matthew Choir: Grades 4–5
Mark Choir: Grades 2–3
Luke Choir: Kindergarten–1st Grade
John Choir: Age 4–Pre-K (by Sept. 1)

Revelation Choir leads worship with uplifting music at the 8:30 a.m. traditional service and performs in concerts and on tour throughout the year. Weekly rehearsals are on Sunday evenings. This choir is open to all students in grades 6–12—no audition or experience needed! Every student is welcome to be part of this fun, faith-filled music ministry.
Micah Choir is a vibrant group of college-age students and young adults who love to sing, serve, and grow in faith together. The choir sings in worship several times a year and travels to Mexico for an annual mission trip.
Whether you’re home from college or new to the area, Micah is a great way to get connected and use your gifts in a meaningful way.
The Chancel Choir leads music in Sunday worship and welcomes all adult singers—no audition required! Rehearsals are held Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. during the school year in Room B40. Small vocal ensembles also sing throughout the year and are open to anyone.
Free childcare is offered during rehearsals, with a reservation (requests must be submitted via email by Sundays at 9pm).

Love to sing, entertain, and bring joy to others? Miriam Singers is a fun, high-energy women’s group (sopranos and altos) that shares music and smiles with eldercare communities across the area.
3–4 themed shows per year
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 2–4pm
20–30 performances annually
Music includes spirituals, show tunes, patriotic hits, and classics from the ’40s–’60s

Handbell Choirs at Custer Road are a joyful way to worship, build friendships, and serve through music. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced ringer, there’s a place for you—visitor or member alike.
Adult Handbell Ensembles
Philippians – Tuesdays at 12pm
A five-octave ensemble for adults available during the day. Performs in worship and seasonal concerts. Childcare available with advance request.Colossians – Tuesdays at 10:15am
Rings for worship and community groups. Perfect for weekday availability.Ephesians – Wednesdays at 6:15pm
Evening rehearsals for working adults. Performs in worship and special events throughout the year.
Kids Handbells
Genesis Ringers – Sundays from 4–5pm
Open to grades 3-5. Kids learn ringing and music-reading skills while preparing to participate in worship.
Student Handbells
Revelation Ringers – Sundays from 4–5pm
For students in grades 6–12. A fun, faith-filled way to develop musical skills, build community, and lead in worship.
Substitute Ringers
Have experience ringing? We welcome substitute ringers for rehearsals and performances year-round.

If you play an instrument—no matter your age or experience—there’s a place for you in our Music Ministry! Most ensembles rehearse a few weeks before performing in worship, and all are open to grades 7 through adult.
King’s Players (Grades 7–12)
A great group for young musicians to grow their skills and learn to play in an ensemble. Rehearsals begin about three weeks before a Sunday performance.Instrumental Ensembles (Brass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Strings)
Open to grades 9-adults, these groups add a festive touch to worship and special events. Weekly rehearsal days and times vary.Jazz INC (In the Name of Christ)
A big band ensemble that brings joyful, uplifting jazz to worship 3–4 times a year, plus special concerts around the community.Ukulele Praise
A fun and welcoming group open to everyone, regardless of age or experience. Ukuleles provided—or bring your own! Rehearses weekly and plays in worship several times a year.
