40s & 50s
50s & 60s
We are a group of married couples and singles in our 50’s and 60’s. Our class grows together spiritually with weekly Bible studies, primarily using RightNow Media resources. Recent class socials have included casual park and backyard gatherings, participating in the church’s annual Trunk or Treat event, and enjoying dinner after viewing Addison’s Vitruvian Lights. We are a fun, caring, and social class that welcomes you to join us in learning, fellowship, and service. Join us any Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in (B11) in the basement. For more information, contact Membership Chair Anne Neeley, arneeley@verizon.net.
We are a small group of both married couples and singles with mostly grown children. We range in age from the 40s to 70s! Our class focuses on Scripture with a special interest in the history of the times and we have lots of opportunities to grow together in grace. Join us Sundays at 9:45am in B21 in the basement. 60s +
Family Foundations is a class of individuals and couples mid-50s and older, mostly with young adult children. About half in our class are grandparents. Ours is a large class, with 40-50 in attendance every Sunday.
- We maintain a small-class feel by planning many social and mission opportunities with the expectation that not everyone is going to do everything.
- As our class has evolved as empty-nesters and some move into retirement, our members have become more active as church leaders and volunteers within the church and community.
- Our members feel ownership in our class’ mission; two-thirds of our members serve on a class committee.
- Members come from a variety of denominational backgrounds. Some attend without their spouse. Although we don’t all hold the same beliefs, we respect differences and view one another as “family.”
The Fresh Faith Sunday School class is a room full of vibrant, loving, accepting, involved, mission strong, as well as fun empty nesters. Our class lessons are Bible based and are taught by volunteer class members through a variety of media solutions.
Many of the class members are in a variety of church activities such as, Choir, Ukulele, Mission Council, Hospitality and Church Greeters, Front Office Volunteers, Bible Study Leadership, …
This class is a caring, welcoming adult class with members who are 60+. We enjoy regular socials and excursions. Class lessons are taught by several class members. They focus on how to live a Christian life in modern society using study books and videos based on the Bible and Methodist beliefs.
We’re Positive Thinkers and we all agree
Our class is focused on TLC.
We’re young enough to still be taught
Yet old enough to know what’s what.
We’re high on fellowship in this family of believers
When it comes to love, we’re overachievers.
New friends are welcome in this class
No newcomer test for you to pass.
Missions are especially dear to our hearts
That’s the place the Great Commission starts.
You don’t need a husband, you don’t need a wife
BUT if you do, come as two, we’ll bless both lives.
Try us soon and you will see
How wonderful a choice this can be.
The Welcome Family members include those actively involved in the workforce, some retirees, married couples, and singles, some with grandchildren and some with pets. An active bunch, we continue to serve with members in the choir, lay leaders, and supporting and funding many worthy missions of the church. Each Sunday morning, we study and grow together in our Christian faith, openly exchanging ideas and experiences through class member-led lessons, videos, and outside speakers, exploring, and expanding our knowledge and understanding, through Biblically based teachings. New friendships abound as we socialize and support one another in our walk of faith. We celebrate Christ together, and welcome others who may be looking to celebrate Christian friendship in a new place where they belong.
