The vision of the Custer Road UMC Permanent Endowment and Planned Giving Ministry is to provide members and friends of Custer Road UMC the opportunity to make significant gifts to the church, either as direct gifts or through estate planning and bequests.

The Story of Our Endowment

Since our inception in 1980, God’s kingdom has grown through Custer Road UMC’s leadership, ministries and facilities in ways we could only have dreamed of. Over the years, we have grown to over 3,000 in our congregation and have added many missions and programs. In 2018, we started researching how we can create an endowment to allow members to leave a lasting legacy.

The Custer Road UMC Permanent Endowment and Planned Giving Ministry was established to provide members and friends of Custer Road UMC the opportunity to make significant gifts to the church, either as direct gifts or through estate planning and bequests.

Investment earnings from these funds will be used for the establishment of new ministries of the church, church missions, Care Ministry, Outreach/Evangelism, and for the support of our permanent church facilities. Investment earnings will not be used for ongoing expenses normally included in the annual operating budget of the church.

Custer Road Endowment Details

Gifts to the fund are invested, not spent. Earnings from these investments complement and support the basic and future needs of the church and its ongoing initiatives, according to established criteria.

New Church Ministries

Establishment of new ministries, including planting new churches and launching new endeavors

Church Missions

We are a part of our Plano community and a global community. Yet our true citizenship is in heaven. We follow Christ's call to take the Gospel to all the ends of the earth.

Permanent Church Facilities

Using today's investments to fund future building is good resource stewardship, and reduces the need for loans for large-scale projects.

Care Ministry & Outreach/Evangelism

(The Rev. Jack & Clara Gibson Fund) Caring for and supporting our congregation, and reaching beyond our church walls to connect with our community and help them know the love of Jesus.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it.
