Vocal Music
Chancel Choir is a chorus that provides the music for Sunday worship services. During the school year, join us Wednesdays for rehearsals at 7:15 p.m. in room B40 (in the basement beneath the Sanctuary).
Also, small vocal ensembles are open to anyone for worship participation several times a year.
Free Childcare during Chancel Choir Rehearsal!
We are now asking parents to submit a childcare request. If you need childcare for our Wednesday night choir rehearsals, we need you to reserve a spot for your child.
- Standing Weekly Childcare Reservation: If you will need childcare every week, you can check “standing” reservation. However, should your plans change, it is your responsibility to email Joy Ferguson by Sunday night at 9 p.m. (prior to that Wednesday night’s rehearsal) if you DO NOT need childcare for the upcoming Wednesday evening.
- Occasional Childcare Reservation: If you do not need a childcare each week (a standard reservation), then you will need to submit a childcare request each week you need childcare by Sunday at 9 pm. College-age and young adults (18-35) perform on Thanksgiving Sunday, Christmas Eve and other holidays, tour, and do mission work.
Revelation provides inspiring music for the 8:30am Sunday worship service and performs several additional concerts and tours throughout the year. This is a non-auditioned choir for youth in grades 6-12. All students, regardless of experience or self-confidence, are invited to take advantage of this excellent youth and music program. Gospel Gang Choir Kickoff! | Sunday August 18 | 5:00pm | Sanctuary
Children 4 years old-5th grade and their parents are invited to tour Gospel Gang choir rooms, meet their choir teachers, and see what kids are learning at choir rehearsals!
Gospel Gang, the Children’s Music Ministry, strives to build better, more confident worship participants for the future of our church. It is open to children ages 4 years (by Sept.1) through grade 5, and consists of four choirs, organized by age and grade. Click HERE if you would like to register. We would love to have you!
MATTHEW CHOIR: grades 4 and 5.
MARK CHOIR: grades 2 and 3.
LUKE CHOIR: kindergarten and grade 1.
JOHN CHOIR: 4-year-old children (by Sept. 1) and pre-kindergarten 5-year-old children.

Instrumental Music
Joining a Handbell Choir is about more than ringing bells; it’s about glorifying God, building friendships with one another and ministry to all of God’s people. We invite anyone, visitor or member, to find a place among us in a ringing ensemble.
ADULT HANDBELLS GROUPS:
PHILIPPIANS: Tuesdays – 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday rehearsals are from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. This five-octave adult handbell ensemble is designed for individuals who have time available during the week day. Philippians performs in worship as well as at additional concerts throughout the year. Child care provided for rehearsals with advance reservation.
COLOSSIANS: Wednesdays – 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday rehearsals are from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This ensemble is for adults who have time available during the week day. Colossians performs in worship as well as for Treasured Times and other community groups throughout the year.
EPHESIANS: Wednesdays – 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday rehearsals are from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. This adult handbell ensemble allows day-working individuals the opportunity to ring in a handbell choir. Ephesians performs in worship as well as at additional concerts throughout the year.
CHILDREN HANDBELLS GROUPS:
GENESIS RINGERS: Sundays – 4-5 p.m.
Genesis is beginning handbell choir for children in grades 3, 4 and 5. This handbell choir emphasizes beginning ringing and music reading skills and prepares the children for regular participation in worship.
YOUTH HANDBELLS GROUPS:
REVELATION RINGERS: Sundays – 4-5 p.m.
Revelation Ringers offers middle school and high school students the chance to ring handbells and make friends. This youth handbell ensemble provides the opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to ring in worship regularly and play special concerts one to two times each year. To register, click HERE.
SUBSTITUTE RINGERS
Experienced substitute ringers are always needed for rehearsals and/or performances throughout the year.
Custer Road UMC instrumental ensembles are open to every member who would like to share a musical talent, grade 7 and above. We have performing groups for just about any instrument. Rehearsals are scheduled two to three weeks before playing for Sunday services.
King’s Players
All instrumentalists, grades 7 – 12 are invited to share their talents with our congregation. (These young players learn how to play in an ensemble and learn new skills on their instruments.) This ensemble meets on Sunday mornings, rehearsing three weeks before a performance in Sunday services. Come grow with us!
Brass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone and String Ensembles
Adult and senior high youth instrumentalists are invited to participate in these ensembles to add a festive nature to our worship services and special concerts. Rehearsals are on a weekly basis.
Jazz INC (In the Name of Christ) Big Band
This ensemble rehearses weekly and performs for Sunday services 3 to 4 times yearly. They also provide additional concerts throughout the year for other area churches and social events.
Ukulele Experiment
This ensemble rehearses weekly and performs for Sunday services 2 to 3 times yearly. They add a wonderful flair to our worship service. This group is open to ANYONE regardless of their age and experience. Ukuleles are provided or you can bring your own!
