Community Synergy

IMPACT Missions at Custer Road UMC

Our hope is to establish strong connections and collaborations between Custer Road UMC and interfaith, city, and county organizations to build a unified partnership framework that promotes equity, addresses deep-rooted social issues, and supports our community by helping them know the love of Jesus.

Local School Partnerships

Head Start is a federally funded program that supports preschool children from low-income families. It provides a full range of services—including education, health and dental care, nutrition, and family support—to help children thrive and families succeed.

For more information, visit HEAD START.

The School-Age Parent Program supports expectant and parenting teens with the resources they need to stay in school, graduate, and build a bright future. Students receive practical help and emotional support from pregnancy through parenting, so they can thrive both as students and as parents.

Email Rhonda Dye with any questions.

Mentor a Student. Make a Difference.
Custer Road UMC partners with Christie and Thomas Elementary Schools to support student success through mentoring. These Title 1 schools focus on helping students overcome barriers to learning—and mentoring is a key part of that.

We’re working to recruit 100 CRUMC mentors! No special training is needed—just a willingness to invest 30–60 minutes a week to build a caring, consistent relationship by reading together or helping with schoolwork. You can make a lasting impact in a child’s life.

To get connected at one of our partner schools, email Pat Garrett.

We support the emergent and ongoing needs of Christie Elementary, Thomas Elementary, and The Caring Place.

Men's Ministry

New Commandment Men’s Ministry deploys teams of men that adopt the widowed, single parents and others with long-term needs in our church. These men gather on the second Saturday of the month for prayer and Bible study and then go to serve doing basic household jobs in the home of their care receiver.
